Gloucestershire and Wye Valley Registry

Welcome to the Gloucestershire and Wye Valley Registry
Sites of Speleological Interest

This online version of the Gloucestershire registry database contains entries for sites across Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley (including sites on the Welsh side of the Wye - the Marches). The database contains references to caves, mines, hydrological and archaeological features, digs and general sites of speleological interest. Please note that sites to the south of the Gloucestershire county boundary can be found in the Mendip Cave Registry and those to the west of the A449 (Wales) are included in the Cambrian Cave Registry.

This online database is still in its infancy and there is still much more information yet to be transferred - please be patient.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
The existence of a site description in this database does NOT imply or grant any right of access, nor even guarantee the existence of that site. Information contained in this database may be erroneous or out of date. You can help us to improve the data by submitting your corrections using the feedback links provided on this website.

Currently, in general, no access information is given. For official details of up to date access arrangements to a large number of the caves covered by this database you should consult the Forest of Dean Cave Conservation and Access Group or for the Gloucestershire stone mines contact Gloucester Speleological Society. In other cases it may be necessary to seek access permission from the owner of the land on which a site resides. Many sites may be gated, locked or otherwise inaccessible. NO RESPONSIBILITY will be taken by the Gloucestershire Registry (FoDCCAG) for any damages resulting in any manner, directly or indirectly, from the data held on this site, or from errors or omissions in that data, or from misuse of such data.
